Roger… The Lumpy Bumpy Dog
One of my favourite patients at Cedar Grove is Roger
the Labrador.
Roger has been coming here since April 1999, and made an impression from day one, he was such a big mouthy pup who
grew to be an even bigger gentle giant of an adult! He has his own special greeting when you see
him; he likes to take your wrist in his mouth very gently as if he is shaking your hand.
Over the years Roger has been plagued by various lumps and bumps needing removed, and yet not once has he ever
complained, some lumps being small, and his most recent operation the lump being as big as a grapefruit. No matter
what we do he always comes back with a wagging tail and a smiley face.
Being a typical Labrador he loves his snacks and always gets a treat from reception staff when they see him. Now
aged 10 and a bit, and even with the grey hairs starting to sneak through, he is always ready for a bit of play
when I come and speak to him. Roger is a pleasure and a joy, and his owner Anita has been terrific nursing him through
his many operations over the years.
