Vaccinations

One of the greatest advances in animal health in recent years is in the area of vaccination.
We recommend a primary vaccination course for puppies, vaccines done at 8 and 12 week, and kittens done at 9 and 12
weeks. These are followed by regular booster vaccinations every year to ensure that your pet’s immunity remains
‘primed’ at all times against the ever present threat of infectious disease.
The vaccination visit is also an excellent opportunity for us to give your pet a complete health examination.
This hopefully allows us to pick up early signs of problems. Early detection of a wide range of conditions can make
a real difference to the long term health of your pet.
This complete health examination is at no additional cost.

In particular we recommend regular booster vaccinations against the following, potentially fatal, infectious
diseases:
Dogs: Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Leptospirosis and Para-influenza virus.
Cats: Cat flu, Feline panleucopaenia and Feline Leukaemia virus.
Many people also choose to have their dogs vaccinated against Kennel Cough (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennel_cough) before boarding in
kennels or enrolling in training classes.
Rabies vaccine is obligatory for pet dogs and cats travelling abroad under the Pet Travel Scheme. (http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/)
Don’t take any risks with your pet’s well being – keep them healthy with regular vaccinations and health
checks!
